Changes to consultation fees from 25th July 2022

02/06/2022

All Ways Healthcare is a Not-for-Profit organisation that has been able to provide a fully bulk billed health care services to the community since 2004. However, providing bulk billing services for the past 18 years has not been without its struggles. Current Medicare rebates falling short of the cost of delivering quality medical services, and bulk billing is no longer sustainable.

It is for this reason; All Ways Healthcare have had to follow suit with many other Practices in the region and nationally in moving from a completely bulk billing Practice to a mixed billing/fee for service model. The change to mixed billing will also help us to attract and retain GPs to the area.

From 25th July 2022, All Ways Healthcare will introduce the mixed billing/fee for service model at our Cessnock and Kurri Kurri Practices.

The following eligible patients will continue to be bulk billed:

·        Under the age of 16 years,

·        Patients with a valid pension, or health care card,

·        DVA card holders &

·        Patients attending for GP management planning for their chronic condition.

Patients who do not meet the eligibility criteria may incur a fee for their medical consultation; this is at the discretion of their treating GP.

All Ways Healthcare would like to remind the Cessnock & Kurri Kurri Communities that despite these changes, we remain committed to our MISSION in ensuring the Community is provided with accessible and comprehensive health care.
